• 55yrs continuous service to the Redcliffe Dolphins Rugby League Football Club (RDRLFC, as a volunteer)
• President of the RDRLFC (since 1988)
• Chairman of the Rugby League Club
• Life member of RDRLFC & RLC
• 2007 Clubs QLD Director of the Year
• Driving force behind the formation of Leagues Clubs QLD and the push for a national body
• Under Des’s Presidency, the Dolphins have been crowned First Grade Premiers 6 times and overall Club Champions 10 times
• Overseen the Dolphins juniors grow from 200 kids to 800+
• Established the Narangba Rangers junior RLC which has grown from 38 kids to 350+ in 4 years
