LCA Wheelchair Championships 2026

10 to 12 July 2026

Leagues Clubs Australia (LCA) is proud to announce the renewal of its partnership with the LCA NRL Wheelchair Championship through to 2027, reinforcing our ongoing commitment to inclusion, accessibility and participation in sport.

As naming rights partner, LCA is pleased to continue supporting one of the nation’s premier Wheelchair Rugby League competitions, helping create opportunities for athletes, volunteers, clubs and communities across Australia.

The LCA NRL Wheelchair Championship showcases the very best of Wheelchair Rugby League, bringing together elite athletes from across the country to compete at the highest level and demonstrate the resilience, skill, and determination that define the sport.

LCA CEO Don Hammond said the renewed partnership reflects the organisation’s commitment to supporting programs and events that create meaningful opportunities for participation and connection.

“The LCA NRL Wheelchair Championship represents everything that is great about Rugby League: community, opportunity, inclusion and passion,” Mr Hammond said.
“Leagues Clubs Australia is proud to continue supporting the championship and the ongoing growth of Wheelchair Rugby League across Australia.”

NRL Wheelchair CEO Anna Fitzgerald welcomed the renewed commitment, acknowledging the important role Leagues Clubs Australia has played in helping elevate the sport nationally.
“The support of Leagues Clubs Australia has been instrumental in the continued growth and success of the Championship,” Ms Fitzgerald said.
“This partnership allows us to continue creating opportunities for more people to experience Wheelchair Rugby League, increasing participation and delivering high-quality national events that bring our community together.”

The renewed agreement continues a strong partnership between Leagues Clubs Australia and Wheelchair Rugby League Australia, with both organisations sharing a vision to increase participation, raise awareness, and create more inclusive opportunities within the game.
Beyond the competition itself, the championship provides a platform to celebrate the power of inclusive sport and its positive impact on individuals, families and communities.
This year’s LCA NRL Wheelchair Championship will be held at the Coomera Indoor Sports Centre on the Gold Coast from 10 to 12 July 2026.
In another positive step for the sport’s growth, entry will once again be free for spectators, providing an opportunity for the wider community to experience firsthand the excitement, athleticism and inclusiveness of Wheelchair Rugby League.

Leagues Clubs Australia looks forward to continuing its support of the championship and celebrating the athletes, volunteers and communities that make this outstanding event possible.
